Diversifying the Field

Our Core Commitment

We aim to actively change the face of international peace and security by ensuring that our organizations reflect the diversity of Black people and people of color at all levels.

We work towards this through our ongoing projects. One such project focuses on creating a pathways matrix to share research findings about how diverse individuals find their way into the field, and how the field can do better.

The group has decided to focus on supporting this pipeline by beginning with emerging BIPOC voices in the field.

The Diversifying the Field working group will be releasing a report surmising the compilation of survey responses from university faculty and students on their experience with International Security and Policy in their respective careers in a report. With this information, we hope to create a pathways matrix to share research findings about how diverse individuals find their way into the field and how the field can do better.
