Core Commitment

Acknowledge the contributions of Black people and people of color and credit their work in the fields of international peace and security. We aim to do this by increasing the opportunities for policy, programs, strategic work, followed by acknowledgement/credit for such work internally/externally for POC.

Internally for organizations, this looks like transparency in decision making as well as equal input. Organizations should also provide space for POC to voice new ideas and represent the organization. By increasing the number of voices from people of color, especially Black people, in decision making processes on policy, programs, strategic priorities , there will be more representation of the population which is under consideration. We aim to have organizations take into practice choosing representation over hierarchical practices in the decision making processes.
