Maher Akremi

Maher Akremi is the Program Manager at WCAPS, focusing on the development and implementation of the Organizations in Solidarity Program. His role includes managing a team of consultants, volunteers, and program membership. He also leads the facilitation of meetings and events and the design and management of the program's website. Prior to WCAPS Maher was the fall '19 Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow. He graduated in 2018 from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri where he studied political science as well as history, philosophy, and English.

Maher is a published fiction writer and uses his writing as a medium for activism. He is originally from Columbia, Missouri and before moving to Washington he worked for nine years as a Dairy Technician at Goatsbeard Farm, a small goat dairy outside of Harrisburg, Missouri, where he did all sorts of work with goats and cheese. In his free time, Maher reads, writes fiction, and watches movies and tv with his significant other and their cats.

In the future, Maher plans to continue to work in DC on participation, equity, and peacebuilding issues as well as eventually pursue a Ph.D. in Philosophy, particularly focused on logic and ethics.
